MAKING BETTER CHOICES AND DECISIONS

Happy New Year!

Now that 2010 has arrived, I know that many of you are thinking about making resolutions, and what you want to accomplish for the year ahead. Would you like this year to be a better one for making positive choices and decisions?

Making decisions about yourself doesn’t necessarily come naturally to everyone. We live in a world where it’s increasingly easy to let someone else make them for us. Of course, there are some decisions that it's important to leave to the experts – I’m not referring to those. There are so many that we’re capable of making for ourselves, by tapping into your inner guidance. When you make a decision based on intuition, you’ll find that you trust in “the feeling.” When this happens for the first time, it’s like a turning point and from that moment on, your confidence will build and you won’t look back!

We’re all scared of making choices because we’re afraid of the risks, and of the end result, which we’ve often already imagined in our minds. Fear of the outcome can hold you prisoner if you let it. I know it’s scary to make intuitive psychic decisions, when logic is dragging you in the opposite direction. Intuition is not meant to replace logic, but through your psychic strengths and intuition, you’ll be able compliment and support your logic with all your future decisions and stand a far better chance of success in all areas of your life.

Wherever you are right now, at this precise moment in your life, it’s because you brought yourself here. Yes, it’s all about you! Every choice and decision you’ve made has influenced your path. I believe that some events in our lives are fated and meant to happen. But, always remember that you have freewill and the choice at that moment in time to determine what you do and how you respond when an event happens.

As a soul, you’re an amalgamation of all your experiences that are happening now, combined with those from the past. It’s the choices that you make with these experiences that determines the quality of how you’re going to live your life. I’ve written in a previous newsletter that when I was in my automobile accident in Los Angeles, I chose to let the accident become a positive experience for me. I believe it was meant to happen, and it was down to my freewill to either complain and blame the world, or to seize the opportunity and use it as a “wake-up call” so I could make the necessary changes and improve my life.

There are many different roads that you’ll take on your soul’s journey. When your soul incarnates here in the physical world, its predestined journey will take you from point A to point B. It’s your choice and freewill along the route as to how fast you want to get there, whether it’s the direct fast route from point A to point B, or you may meander through different side roads, experiencing all that life has to offer as you take your time in getting to your souls ultimate destination.

Sometimes other people can influence or accelerate your course, or in some cases derail you altogether. We have a tendency to listen to other people, especially when we trust them. They love to tell us what they think is best for us. If you’re going to seek advice, please do your homework and seek out the right person or professional who’s best equipped to help you make the correct choices. If you receive advice from someone who’s less equipped and it turns out not to be the best advice, then it’s likely that you’re going to blame them. In reality, it was your choice to listen to that person’s advice in the first place anyway!

Ultimately, everything really does come down to the simple premise that you’re accountable for the conditions that are around you. Blaming others takes away from your soul’s power, and when you take on the responsibility for your choices, decisions and your life – your soul cannot help but to become stronger leaving you feeling empowered.

I want to wish everyone a blessed, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

It’s important to stop and ask yourself questions once in awhile, so you can check in with yourself to see where you are at this point on your souls journey. If you are moving farther away from where you want to be, then once again I urge you to stop and ask yourself: “What do I need to do right now to put me back on my path?” At least by asking the question, you’re taking on the responsibility for your own life’s direction.

If you imagine life as a river, it’s good to let go of the rivers edge and let the flow of life take you to where you're suppose to be. It can feel quite liberating when you do let go and surrender to fate. Suddenly the opportunities and choices become exciting and yet you still feel safe in letting go of the outcome. Of course there are other times when it makes more sense to grab a pair of oars and steer yourself in a certain direction.

Your choice is your own freewill – hang on or let go? At least you’re asking yourself the questions, which will assist your soul in answering you and telling you what it wants and needs.

Tips on Making Better Choices for 2010

When you take responsibility for your life and the choices you make, you’ll be able to tap into the power of your soul, to listen to the intuitive wisdom that’s inside you and apply it to your outside world. Next time you make a decision, stop for a moment and ask yourself: “How do I feel about this decision?” “Does it feel positive or negative, and why?” Simply by doing this, you’ll be accessing your own intuition and be guided to make better choices. By making better, smarter, considered decisions, you’ll no longer be a victim of circumstance, but have the power and ability to change the outcome.

****

It’s always your choice as to what kind of day you want to have. Even before your foot touches the floor – try smiling. You don’t need a reason. By just smiling, you’ll begin your day with a positive attitude. It will even send a spark of upliftment into your aura, which will assist in putting you in an upbeat mood. As I often say: “All thought creates reality” so, by starting off your day this way, you’ll attract more positive vibes and opportunities.

****

Intuition can be an excellent resource to assist you in making decisions or choices. Here’s another technique you may want to try. Visualize two roads in front of you with individual signs representing each decision. Take your time as you walk down each road and observe all the surroundings. Notice everything. Do you feel positive or negative? Are the roads rugged or smooth? Is the landscape rich with greenery or is it barren? Use this technique for small decisions at first, as you build your intuition and confidence.

****

Choose from the heart. If I’m having difficulty understanding someone, I try to look beyond what I’m seeing in front of me. Layer upon layer of life’s issues may be covering the goodness that’s inside that person. People will also put up a front as a form of protective armor, because they were hurt in the past. I choose to look or feel if they have a kind pure heart. I choose to look for the good that’s in every person and in every situation. It may not be easy at times, but I try.

****

At some time or another, we’ve all made bad choices in our lives. Hopefully we learn from them, try to not to do them again, and move on. By making peace with a bad choice from the past, it will help you to move in a more positive direction to make future choices. Decide right now, at this very moment to strive to make better choices in the future. By this simple act, you’re making a commitment to yourself and to your soul to be all that you can be. Choose wisely and the regrets will be few.
